Audition for Loyce Houlton’s Nutcracker Fantasy 2025!

Join professional dancers and a live orchestra in a magical retelling of Minnesota’s beloved holiday production at the State Theatre. Young dancers will receive expert coaching in iconic Nutcracker roles, connect with a dedicated artistic community, and perform in a timeless classic that continues to captivate audiences year after year.

Audition Dates:
Sunday, August 17 or Sunday, August 24

Audition Fee: $15

Applicants will be evaluated by a panel of local teaching artists. All auditions will include a ballet technique class and dedicated time to learn and practice choreography. No prior knowledge of Nutcracker choreography is required.

Students who have been working on pointe for at least one year are encouraged to bring pointe shoes.

Please note: Dancers enrolled in Nutcracker Workshops will audition at the end of their workshop week and will not be required to participate again. All students interested in participating in the 2025 production must audition again. Participation in past workshops or Nutcracker productions does not guarantee casting.
